EARTH CHEMISTRY   -  SORRY FULLY BOOKED

Grades K-2  Presenter                Camilla Gordon

I bet you’ve heard of calcium! I bet you’ve also heard that bananas have chemicals in them that are good for us! But have you ever thought about how all the chemicals we have on Earth got here? Or how the air got Oxygen? Or why broccoli has ‘stuff’ in it that is good for us? These chemicals had to come from somewhere and get into our food and air, so we’re going to find out. We’ll be playing with pH and looking at what these chemicals look like. We’ll be hammering leaves to see the chlorophyll; extracting juice from cabbage; and looking at the protein in milk. You will leave this class with lots of knowledge about the make up of the chemistry of Planet Earth, and have fun doing it.
